The 133rd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, opened on April 15, 2023 in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The exhibition will be held in three phases from April 15 to May 5. As the “barometer” and “vane” of China’s foreign trade, the Canton Fair is known as the “China’s No.1 Exhibition” for its longest history, largest scale, most comprehensive range of products, highest attendance of buyers and best results. This is the first time that the Canton Fair has been held entirely offline since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, with record high exhibition areas and number of participating enterprises.
Guangdong Olivia Chemical Co., Ltd., a veteran exhibitor at the Canton Fair, has brought a full range of silicone products covering the market and upgraded formulations of new silicone sealants to the offline exhibition in order to meet the demand of buyers for silicone products at the Canton Fair. This move aims to enhance the company’s market competitiveness by jointly developing the silicone sector. At the same time, Olivia has completed the online exhibition, which is convenient for buyers who are unable to attend the event, and strives to expand its overseas market.
Plan ahead and get orders faster
Prior to the start of this year’s Canton Fair, the Olivia team proactively reached out to new and regular customers from countries such as Israel, Nepal, India, Vietnam, and Mongolia online. We first introduced their products in detail to generate customer interest, and then combined social media promotion to attract more new customers to their booth. Based on research on the “online + offline” approach, we adjusted our products exhibited at the Canton Fair. In addition to the popular OLV3010 acetic silicone sealant from previous Fairs, also added high-quality neutral weather-resistant silicone sealants such as OLV44/OLV1800/OLV4900 as our main promotion products. New products accounted for about 50% of the total, including approximately 20 high-tech products.
In order to attract more buyers and facilitate more transactions, Olivia made careful preparations during the pre-exhibition phase. The marketing department created a unified booth design with a consistent logo, name, and style, focusing on highlighting the brand and corporate image, fully showcasing the company’s overall strength.
Olivia is off to a good start
On the first day of the exhibition, the diversified product display had a remarkable effect. Olivia’s booth, featuring a concentration of high-quality products, attracted a large number of domestic and foreign buyers to stop by and negotiate. OLV502 and OLV4000 received unanimous praise from domestic and foreign buyers, strengthening communication with regular friends and gaining a new batch of “fans” through the connection with the products.
To give buyers a more intuitive feel for the bonding strength of silicone sealants, this year’s Canton Fair specially prepared glass, aluminum, and acrylic models for customers to check and inspect the quality. Many buyers were very interested in the instruments used to test the tensile strength and after experiencing it firsthand, they praised the bonding ability of the new product OLV4900.
All the silicone products exhibited this time were independently designed and produced by Olivia, suitable for different building scenarios and can also meet customers’ customization needs.
Heartwarming and professional service build closer relationships
Olivia’s sales team warmly welcomed customers who came to their booth at the exhibition. A smile, a glass of water, a chair, and a catalog may seem like ordinary ways of hospitality, but they are the “first moves” for foreign trade companies to showcase their image and sincerity. On April 15th, Olivia received a hundred domestic and foreign customers at their booth, with an intended transaction amount of $300,000. Some customers agreed to visit the factory after the end of the exhibition to further understand the production process and product quality, giving Olivia’s team confidence to push forward with the transaction.
